THE DETAILS
I’m a biologist by training, and after a couple of years of fieldwork, I switched to communicating science to advance conservation through the back door. After a thirty-year career as a public servant with Environment Canada and Parks Canada, I’ve concluded that writing is cheaper than therapy, even with coordinated benefits.
My curiosity about the natural world—and about human nature—eventually found its way into my writing. My nonfiction and short stories have won or been shortlisted in contests and appeared in anthologies.
Now I’m mining my work experiences and passion for nature for my first mystery novel, featuring a national park biologist who turns her field skills on a new species: murder suspects.
I was born in Québec, grew up and started my career in Alberta, and have lived in Vancouver since 2009, with my husband and the few plants that have survived my neglect.
